A heritage favourite that’s as sweet as summer! Golden Bantam is a classic early variety of sweet corn that has been gracing Canadian gardens for over a century. With its bright yellow kernels and unbeatable, old-fashioned flavour, it’s perfect for fresh eating, freezing, or canning.
Each sturdy stalk produces 1-2 medium-sized ears, ideal for smaller gardens. Ready to harvest in just 75-80 days, this open-pollinated variety thrives in Canada’s diverse growing conditions.
Plant in warm, well-drained soil and give it plenty of sunshine. Whether you’re planting rows for a garden feast or a few stalks for fun, Golden Bantam is easy to grow and a delight to eat. Just imagine that first buttery bite—absolutely corny but irresistible!
